How can you help support Project Get Outdoors?

There are several ways you can help us in our efforts to make sure every child in Minnesota has the opportunity to experience nature and outdoor recreation.

VOLUNTEER

Volunteering with a Project GO program near you is a great way to support our effort.  Volunteers are needed to help lead outdoor activities, chaperone fieldtrips, assist with local public awareness work such as press releases, blog updates and newsletters.  Volunteers can help out once in awhile or committ to once a week.  Whatever fits your schedule.

DONATE

Not only cash donations, but outdoor equipment items are also appreciated.  Do you have fishing or camping gear that has sat in the  basement for years?  How about a canoe or kayak that you hoped to use but have left sitting by the garage since 2000?  You can donate these kinds of items to Project Get Outdoors, Inc. and receive a tax deducation.  Please contact the Project Coordinator to inquire about your item donation.

You can also donate cash to our non-profit organizatio or to a local GO club near you.  To find your nearest GO club, click on “Our Sites” and search the list.

Make your checks out to:  Project Get Outdoors, Inc. and list what club you wish to support on the memo line of your check.  Mail checks to:

How is Project GO Funded?

The Project Get Outdoors program has a two-tier structure with the main Project GO entity overseeing the smaller Project GO Clubs in the region. Each Project GO Club is responsible for initiating fundraising efforts within their communities in order to generate funds to cover program snacks, activities and volunteer stipends.

The supervising Project Get Outdoors organization is overseen by a board of directors. The organization currently operates on grant funds and donations from corporations, businesses and individuals that support our mission. These funds allow Project Get Outdoors coordinators to work with interested communities to develop, implement and evaluate Project GO programs. These funds will also cover the expenses of a Project GO bus to be used to transport program participants to and from outdoor activities throughout the region.

Because of the collaborative nature of this project, countless organizations and agencies have joined together to support the Project GO program with a variety of professional resources. Our major partners are listed on the back of this booklet.

Once Project Get Outdoors expands throughout the region, a sustainable fundraising plan will be implemented. This plan will include Project GO memberships which will generate revenue for the program while providing families with discounts on outdoor gear and activities.
